Experience Oregon began offering tours under the watchful eyes of Marian and Bud Kloster in 1991. The first day trips used a 16-passenger minibus and were inspired by the knowledge and insights the Klosters had gained from their own extensive travels. Bud was the only driver and guide. His informative and entertaining day trips gave participants history, facts, and folklore that told the story of Oregon. From their own travels, Marian and Bud knew passengers might forget to bring a jacket, so they would send extra jackets. They knew, too, that a day trip is always better if you have plenty of stops and are well fed and comfortable. So before each trip, bright and very early in the morning, Bud would make coffee and Marian would make cinnamon rolls that were served at one of the beautiful stops along the way to their destination.
Bud loved sharing his beautiful state with others who caught his enthusiasm. Marian reached out to generate community business interest and fielded calls. With Marian’s business sense and Bud's winning personality, the company grew. Now, a fleet of Experience Oregon motor coaches serves the Western United States, the Midwest, and all of Western Canada. Experience Oregon has grown to offer day trips, multi-day tours, charter and convention services, and everything in between.
Bud has since semi-retired while Marian continues with administration. They are both actively involved in the business and focused on customer satisfaction. While the volume of tours has grown significantly over the years, charter transportation has actually become a major branch of the business, serving groups of all sizes. After 25+ years, Experience Oregon has earned a reputation for keeping the customers' needs foremost. Marian and Bud have continued to watch over all policies and operations of the company; and Experience Oregon is better because they care.
